
Xiangquan (James) Yao is an associate professor of mathematics education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Pennsylvania State University. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics education from Ohio State University. He has been an editorial panel member for Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education-Mathematics Education since 2017. His research focuses on mathematical thinking in technology-rich environments, mathematics teaching and learning with mathematics-specific technologies, and the development of preservice mathematics teachers’technological, mathematical, and pedagogical understanding for teaching mathematics with technology.
