Issue 11(1), March 2011
Implications of I-TEST Projects for Teacher Education
CITE Journal is soliciting paper submissions for a special issue of the journal focusing on National Science Foundation funded ITEST projects and their implications for teacher education.
CITE Journal is a scholarly, peer-reviewed electronic journal sponsored by the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education and co-sponsored by four professional teacher education associations in the fields of science education, mathematics education, social studies education, and English language arts education. Articles regarding implications for either preservice or in-service teacher education are welcome. A wide range of formats and approaches to scholarship are accepted, including qualitative research, quantitative studies, conceptual and theoretical pieces, case studies, and professional practice papers. Editors are looking for well-written manuscripts describing innovative projects. All papers should include a rationale for the project grounded in the literature, as well as a discussion of the project’s implications for preservice or in-service science teacher education.
Papers may be submitted to one of four sections of the journal:
CITE Journal - Science Education: The Science Section of CITE Journal is sponsored by the Association for Science Teacher Education. Papers submitted to this section should describe projects integrating technology to provide instructional resources to science teachers, to increase student achievement in science, or to increase student interest in STEM careers.

CITE Journal – Mathematics Education: The Mathematics Section of CITE Journal is sponsored by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators. Papers submitted to this section should describe projects integrating technology to provide instructional resources to mathematics teachers, to increase student achievement in mathematics, or to increase student interest in STEM careers.

CITE Journal – General Section: The General section of CITE Journal is sponsored by the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education. Papers submitted to this section should describe projects in which the focus is primarily on communications technologies (rather than on learning science or mathematics) in order to prepare students for or increase student interest in STEM careers.

CITE Journal – Current Practice: The Current Practice section is also sponsored by the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education. The goal of the Current Practice section is to provide rich snapshots of promising work to advance discussion and make available ideas and findings for practitioners in technology and teacher education. The Current Practice section values promising ideas, implementations, and preliminary findings from research studies that may not yet be complete.
